Maharashtra Mandal Chicago (MMC) is a non-profit organization serving the local
community since 1969.
It is the first Maharashtra Mandal formed in North America. It is also the proud founder
of Brihan Maharashtra Mandal. The most amazing tradition, it has kept up is the annual
hosting a full-fledged 3-hour Marathi drama.
The main objective of MMC is to provide the cultural support to all Maharashtrian people
now in USA, with roots in Maharashtra. Another major activity of MMC is to help in
bringing together Marathi speaking Indian community.
MMC organizes various events related to traditional Maharashtrian cultural programs
such as Gudhi Padava, Natya Sangeet, Marathi NatyaMahotsava, Ganesh Chaturthi,
Diwali, Varsha Sahal, and many more. The aim is to promote the Artists both local as
well as from India, in various fields.
As a community outreach, MMC participates in various volunteer and charity activities
such as ‘Feed My Starving Children’, ‘Northen Illinois Food Bank’, ‘Seva International’,
to name a few.
This year MMC is celebrating it’s 50th year by organization a 3-day culturally
entertaining program in October. Taking this opportunity, current MMC president Ms
Vaishali Raje, has lead the team to undertake a noble cause. MMC is joining hands with
‘H2H Foundation’ in raising money to save the lives of children born with congenital
heart defects (CHD). At MMC, we strive to make a difference in the community!
