Biography:

I am Haribhai Patel, President Of Bharatiya Senior Citizens Of Chicago, here to give you a short introduction of Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago a nonprofit organization. We started some 12 years before with about 11 individuals as members and now we have 1500+ members. We meet once a month at a facility named Rana Regan Center located in Carol Stream, ILL. Our programs include celebration of (1)Indian and US festivals, (2)Social and political events, info to seniors on various medical subjects by experts,

(3) helping to collect some funding for charitable institutions who help communities here and at India, (4)celebration of religious and national US and Indian festivals,

(5) since so many seniors do not have the ability to manage out of the country and in the country far locations tours,  we as an organization undertake such tours,

(6) we arrange various entertaining programs like musical programs and dramas

(7) one annual picnic, & local all Chicago area mandir tour

(8) a great celebration of Navratri Garba

(9) and one grand get together on Diwali Party and so forth. Our focus is to entertain Seniors and provide them valuable information regarding health, social and political subjects and provide a platform to interact with each other. Seniors are enjoying that. This is a shortlist of our activities.

On behalf of Bharatiya Senior Citizens Of Chicago, I am here to give you a short introduction of my self & Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago a nonprofit organization.

We started some 12 years before with about 11 individuals as members and now swell to 1500+ members. Since the beginning, we changed a couple of locations as our membership grew. The last facility which is a used industrial facility and now the spare building is owned by our Indian industrialist and he graciously allowed us to utilize it for the community. The facility is named Rana Regan center on the two great names Rana means Rana Pratap and Regan the great republican president. The facility is located in Carol Stream, ILL. Our programs usually starts on 3rd Saturday of the month from 2:30 pm onwards and end with the dinner around 8:00 PM. We include celebration of Indian and US festivals, Social and political events, info to seniors on various medical subjects by experts. We donated full equipped surgical  two vans costing more than $40000.00  us  dollars to Indian institution Blind foundation for India who are serving village Chaklasi , Anand , & Virnagar , Rajkot , Gujarat for cataract operations and various eyecare issues. We are helping to collect some funding for charitable institutions who help communities here and at India.

We collect donations for Sainik fund $5000.00 for our solders One time we did OCI camp  at Itasca temple . We received 500+ new OCI applications & 600 + passports cancelation  applications.

We celebrate religious and national US and Indian festivals throughout the year. Since so many seniors do not have ability to manage out of country every year and in country far locations tours,  we as an organization undertake such tours, we arrange various entertaining programs like musical programs and dramas, one annual picnic, great celebration of Navratri garba and one grand get together on Diwali and so forth. On our local temples tour, we get more than six bus full of passengers and we have to limit that. Our focus is to entertain Seniors and provide them valuable information regarding health, social and political subjects and provide a platform to interact with each other. Seniors are enjoying that. Even so many seniors want to Join us, however due to place limitation we have to restrict the membership this year. This is a short list of our activities.
